The Hijri year (AH anno hegirae) is the year-numbering system used
in the Islamic calendar. It commemorates the Hijra
( emigration of Prophet Muhammad
and his followers to the city of Medina in 622 CE).
The first day of Muharram is on July, 30 2022 CE and the new year is 1444 AH
The first day of Muharram was on 9 August 2021 CE and the new year was 1443 AH
The
year 2021 corresponds to the Islamic years 1442–1443 AH.
Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar and it’s also the most important month. The month of Muharram is considered a month of peace and harmony.

New Year, also known as Islamic
new year (Arabic: Ras as-Sanah al-Hijriyah)

calendar year, and is the day on which the year count
is incremented. The first day of the year is observed on the
first day of Muharram, the first month in the
Islamic calendar. The first month, Muharram
is one of the four sacred months that Allah has mentioned in the Quran.
